We would like to introduce to you, our new Director of Client Support, Kyle Christensen

Announcing Our Newest Addition To The WLTRG Team!

My family is proud to call Whatcom County our home. My wife and I are enjoying raising our three children here, and I am excited to begin my new role as the Director of Client Support for the Whatcom Long Term Recovery Group. Prior to my current position, I was hired as the Flood Recovery Manager for Whatcom County Sheriff's Office Division of Emergency Management in February of 2022 in response to the devastating flood that impacted Whatcom County in November 2021. That flood affected over 2,000 families in our communities and caused millions of dollars in damages. Serving as the Mayor of Sumas from 2018-2021, I saw first-hand the impact of the flood, but also the strength of our community. I have also served as a volunteer firefighter for over 25 years. All of this experience has helped to prepare me for my current position as the Director of Client Support. My role is to coordinate and lead the recovery process by connecting individuals and families to any and all available resources. I work closely with government agencies, Whatcom Community Foundation, churches, other non-profit organizations, and local businesses to help find support for all of the flood survivors. I am passionate about serving my community and I am thankful for the opportunity to help my neighbors and friends recover during this difficult time in their lives. Kyle ChristensenDirector of Client SupportWhatcom Long Term Recovery Group - WLTRG
